The Islamabad Traffic Police have issued a traffic plan regarding Independence Day celebrations in the federal capital.
Senior Superintendent Police Traffic Farrukh Rasheed said on Sunday that as per plan, 357 officers have been designated on special duties and a traffic diversion plan has been planned.
During the Independence Day celebrations starting from 6am, many roads between the joint cities has been blocked, he said adding that a special squad has been designated that will control traffic on different roads today (Monday) and tomorrow (Tuesday) in Islamabad.
The SSP Traffic said that there will be a crackdown against one wheeler motorcyclists, heavy vehicle drivers and people caught driving rashly on roads and they will be punished according to law.
